Before joining Huawei in 2022, I started out at a small company. The years since have mostly been about IDEs and developer tools — language services for a homegrown programming language, IDE integration and performance tuning for HarmonyOS, and bringing AI into mobile development, testing, ops, and troubleshooting. If the years taught me one thing, it is this: in software engineering, everything is a trade-off. In 2026 I left to build my own products. Not out of disillusionment with big tech — just that in the AI era, what a single person can make has grown far beyond what it used to be. Off the clock I like taking problems apart the analytic-philosophy way, while leaning more and more on the practical, this-worldly side of Confucian thought. Writing is how I think things through — hence this place.

Around me
Off-screen, I carry a Nikon Z5 II around to shoot, with the odd game of Texas hold'em.
